Armstrong furnaces G1N80 Flame Sensor

The G1N80 flame sensor is used in the G1M7x, G1N7x, and GD50 furnaces. The sensor detects the flame of the furnace and provides a signal to a logic input for control of the furnace.

The G1N80 flame sensor is used in the control box of Armstrong furnaces to detect heat from the furnace and provide a signal to a logic input for control of the furnace.

The temperature-sensitive conductor (TSC) is part of this sensor and detects heat from the furnace’s flame.

When that TSC becomes hot enough, it changes its electrical resistance which will in turn change the voltage output on its terminals; this voltage is relayed to input on an associated control board which activates or deactivates as needed when there is no longer any heat (flame) present in front of it.

The Armstrong G1N80 flame sensor is a device that detects the presence of flame. It is a cost-effective device and is compatible with the following furnaces

The G1N80 Flame Sensor assembly features a flame sensor and an external heat shield for use with AFE-25, AFE-28, and other Armstrong furnaces.

The G1N80 Flame Sensor is an up-flow sensor installed in the air supply plenum that monitors the pilot burner flame. The sensor has a replaceable 10mm x 10mm ceramic plate inside of it. The flame is sensed through a fiber optic illuminating the ceramic plate. This fiber optic cable terminates at the side of the sensor and plugs into the pilot burner header.
