Goodman furnace error code 11
This article will serve to help you troubleshoot a Goodman Furnace Error Code 11 problem and identify the possible causes.
A blown circuit breaker or an open heating circuit can cause a Goodman Furnace Error Code 11 problem.
A goodman furnace error code 11 results from an improper installation of a sensor wire. This could be due to a broken sensor wire, a kinked sensor wire, or the sensor wire not being in contact with the furnace terminals.
Most modern furnaces require a switching relay and thermostat for operation. The relay is activated by the high-voltage pilot when the thermostat sends out a command for heating. In order for this to happen, both wires need to be connected from the power source to the ground and from high voltage terminals on the furnace to either one or two terminals on the switch box.
A goodman furnace error code 11 is caused by a bad thermostat. Follow the steps below for a quick fix.
Step 1: Remove the wires from the thermostat and see if the problem persists.
Step 2: If yes, replace the thermostat with a new one pre-installed for Goodman furnaces and try again.
Step 3: If no, then you will have to troubleshoot further to find out what is causing the problem.
