Changing the filter on Goodman furnace

Filters are crucial for the furnace because it protects against humidity and dust, therefore prolonging its lifespan.

There are two types of air filters, disposable and cleanable. The disposable filters last for about three months and must be changed every three months to get rid of dirt and other particles that might cause damage to your furnace. The cleanable filters can last up to 12 months.

In order to change the filter on a goodman furnace, the homeowner will first need to locate the filter by looking for a panel of panels that are screwed in and has a metal frame. The homeowner will then unscrew one of these panels and note the way that it is facing. From there, they will remove their old filter, turn the new filter so that it is facing in the same direction as their old one, and then put it inside.

The change should take less than an hour and be done every six months.

If a furnace filter is blocked, or if it has been in use for a long period, the airflow will be restricted. As you replace the filter, ensure it is in the right position and that there are no mistakes in installation.

The first few times you change your filter you should inspect it after five hours of heating to make sure that it is working correctly.
