Goodman furnace just blowing cold air
This is a common problem for homeowners. Generally, the problem is caused by one or two things: blocked air filters or clogged air ducts.
The furnace will blow cold air if the filter becomes too dirty from dust. If the filter is still clean, it will not solve the problem. This would mean you must vacuum the vent system to remove debris and anything else that might have accumulated in there.
The first thing to check is the thermostat. This usually triggers the blower motor and evaporator coil to shut down when it’s on cool. It should turn back on once you change the temperature setting on the thermostat from cool to another setting. If that doesn’t work, then there might be an issue with your heating system’s safety controls.
If it doesn’t seem like an issue with your thermostat and your heating system has no safety issues, you might need service on your furnace or other heating appliance to work properly again.
-If you experience this with your furnace, it’s likely to be a problem with the fuel delivery system. This can be remedied by cleaning the vent and ensuring no blockage in the supply pipe.
-If the problem persists after this, it might be a faulty thermostat or sensor. These should be replaced immediately as they could lead to a fire hazard.
