Older furnace brands
Many older furnace brands may no longer be in production or have been acquired by larger companies. Here are some examples:
- Lennox: Founded in 1895, Lennox is one of the oldest furnace brands in the US and is still in operation today.
- Bryant: Bryant was founded in 1904 and was acquired by Carrier in 1955.
- American Standard: American Standard was founded in 1881 and is now a part of Trane, owned by Ingersoll Rand.
- Rheem: Rheem was founded in 1925 and is still in operation today.
- Armstrong: Armstrong was founded in 1928 and was acquired by Lennox in 1988.
- York: York was founded in 1874 and is now a subsidiary of Johnson Controls.
- Carrier: Carrier was founded in 1915 and is now a part of United Technologies.
- Heil: Heil was founded in 1962 and is now owned by International Comfort Products.
- Trane: Trane was founded in 1885 and is now a part of Ingersoll Rand.
- Coleman: Coleman was founded in 1900 and is now a part of Johnson Controls.
It’s worth noting that many of these companies have been acquired by larger conglomerates, and some of the original brands may no longer exist. Additionally, while some of these brands have been around for over a century, it’s important to note that the age of a furnace is not necessarily indicative of its efficiency or safety.
